Mr. Leland Flynn

Mr. Leland Flynn, son of the late Luther Marion Flynn, Sr. and Ada Stacey Flynn, was born on April 19. 1916 in the Naomi community, and he departed this life on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in Somerset, KY having attained the age of 94 years. He was united in marriage to Garnet Stewart Flynn on February 10, 1940 in Terre Haute, IN, she survives. Other survivors include; four daughters, Charlotte (and Ronald) Addington of Louisville, KY, Carolyn (and Max) Hughes of Somerset, KY, Donna (and Charlie) Brown of Crestwood, KY, and Berniece Gholson of Somerset, KY; nine grandchildren, Joseph Lee Pinson, Steven Dewayne Pinson, Ronald Paul Addington, Sheila Louise Addington Waldron, Stefan James Brown, Lorne Lee Brown, Kirk Edward Brown, Belinda Jane Hughes Johnson, and Anthony Wayne Hughes, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; one brother, Junior (and Carol) Flynn of CA; three sisters, Beatrice “Bea” Powell of Somerset, KY, Helen Thomas of IL, and Maudina “Flirt” (and Joseph) Bomarito, of Texas and two sisters-in-law, Mary Flynn of Arkansas, and Gladys Wiles Flynn of Nancy, KY. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; one son, Paul Leland Flynn, and three brothers, Wildon, Donald and Hollis Flynn. Mr. Flynn was a member of the Free Enterprise Baptist Church, a truck driver and employee of Tarter Produce for many years. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Pendley officiating, burial will follow in the Norfleet Cemetery. The family of Mr. Leland Norfleet will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Friday until time for services. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan, or the Alzhiemers Respite Center in Somerset, KY.
