Wanda Harper

Wanda Mink Harper, departed this life on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her home in Somerset, KY.  Wanda was born March 23, 1944 in Pulaski County, KY to the late Orlan and Viola Warren Mink. Wanda was a homemaker and devoted and loving wife. She was a babysitter for many children for several years. She enjoyed and loved all her kids. She was also a faithful member of the Nelson Valley Baptist Church where she served as V.B.S. craft director several times, and Sunday School teacher for many years. Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Mink, Sandy Mink, and Stella Christine Mink Daniels; and one brother, Charles Mink. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Vergis Nelson Harper; one sister, Janet Mink of Somerset, KY; two sons, Daniel Harper, and Norman (and Renee) Harper; one daughter, Karen (and Arthur) McClendon; four grandchildren, Jacob (and Brittany) Harper, Kaitlyn (and Kyle) Heuberger, Kimberly McClendon and Jonathan McClendon; and three great grandchildren, Leandra and Ian Harper, and Kenzly Heuberger. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Nelson Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Stanley Childers and Bro. Bruce Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sweeney’s Chapel Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Wanda Harper will receive friends at the Nelson Valley Baptist Church after 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church until time for services.
