Barbara J Ramsey

Barbara Jean Love Ramsey, age 79, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away on August 25th. 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.

Barbara was born on August 13, 1947, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Ethel Sapp Love and William Robert Love.

Barbara enjoyed planting flowers and working in her flower gardens, cooking Sunday meals for her family, working crossword puzzles, going to church, singing in the choir, playing the piano, and cutting up with her four precious grandchildren. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of six and faithfully attended Community Harvest Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Neal Ramsey; her parents, Ethel Sapp Love and William Robert Love; her in-laws, Mary Elizabeth Andis Ramsey and James Barnett Ramsey; and her brothers-in-law, Freddie Lee Southwood and Homer Davis.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James Andis Ramsey; her daughter, Shelly Elaine Ramsey Tomlinson (Scott); her grandchildren, James Daulton Ramsey (Amanda), Mason Scott Tomlinson, Noah Ramsey Tomlinson, and Clare-Marie Love Ramsey; and David Kendall, who was like a grandson to her. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Dean Southwood, Carolyn Louise Davis, and Marlene Baker (Keith Sims); her sister-in-law, Susan Ramsey Wilson; and her daughter-in-law, Montie Daulton.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Pulaski Funeral Home.

Additional visitation will be held after 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Community Harvest Church of God, 200 Empire Drive, Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Community Harvest Church of God, with Bro. Jon Proctor officiating.

Pallbearers will be Scott Tomlinson, Mason Tomlinson, Noah Tomlinson, Daulton Ramsey, David Kendall, and Darvin Davis.

Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
