Barbara Dean Stewart, daughter of the late Milton and Maggie Adams Baugh was born at Mt. Zion, KY on June 25, 1944 and she departed this life on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 having attained the age of 82 years.
Barbara grew up in the Mt. Zion Community and attended Pulaski County High School from which she graduated in 1962. She married William Kenneth Stewart on September 21, 1962, She and Kenneth were best friends and the love of each others life.
She was employed by the Pulaski County Board of Education and was a secretary first at Shopville High School and also at Shopville Elementary. Barbara was beloved by the students who were adamant that nobody could apply Bactine to a cut like she could!
She enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending her garden, working in her flowers, and camping. She also spent time reading and loved cookbooks and often used some of the recipes to prepare her delicious meals. She took pride in her home and was always doing something to keep it beautiful. Barbara appreciated the art of Norman Rockwell and had many collectibles of his work in her home. Barbara was a faithful member of Pine Hill Baptist Church and loved her church family.
Barbara is survived by her husband Kenneth, a son, Jeff and his wife Amy, her grandson, Adam Stewart and his wife, Katie, great granddaughters; Ophelia Stacey and Ila Jo Stewart, sister, Carolyn Wesley, nieces; Debbie Wesley, and nephews; Wendell Simpson, David Wesley and Randy Molen and his wife Kathy , her special friend, Gerald Woodcock, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill Roger Baugh, sister Chestine Baugh Godbey, Hershel Baugh and Goldie Baugh both who passed in infancy.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Don Branscum officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 10:00 Am until time for services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Pine Hill Cemetery.
