BENNY PRICE

Benny Price, age 70 of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

Born in Shopville on June 25th, 1944, he was loved and raised by two special ladies at different times in his life who preceded him in death, Evellene Price Godby and Corene Jones Poynter. He is survived by one brother, Norman Price of Shopville, a daughter, Pam Sawyers of Somerset, and numerous cousins and two life-long friends, Bob Tucker and Twig Weigel.

Somerset lost a good one with Benny. A fixture in downtown for many years, he was a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed sports going back to the Dirt Bowl League here in Somerset and always kept up with the local teams each season.. An avid UK sports fan, Ben could tell you team stats dating back to the 60s at the drop of a hat.

Of the Baptist faith, Benny had recently accepted Jesus into his life and had gotten saved and would tell people that when he died, he knew that he was headed to be with Jesus for eternity.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset on Monday, June 23rd.

Expressions of sympathy should be directed as donations to the local Humane Society or the charity of your choosing.
