Bettie Jo Phelps

Bettie Jo McClendon Phelps 76, of the Ringgold Community gained her heavenly wings Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 4:30 am surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital where she had retired after 35 years of nursing, caring for new mommas and their babies. She was a kind and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece and friend that unselfishly cared for so many.She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles Riley Phelps, her wonderful son; Charles "DJ" (Tracie) Phelps, her "Golden Grandson"; Clayton, her sister-in-law's; Barbara McClendon from Monticello, Ky. Ethel (Lee)Tucker from Somerset, Ky and Savanah Daulton from Columbus, In.,and many nieces and nephews.Bettie is reunited with her parents; Thomas Dewey McClendon and Ailene (Burns) McClendon, beloved brother; Fredrick "Fred" McClendon as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.She belonged to the Buena Vista Baptist Church FamilyA funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Isman Garcia.Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.Visitation will be from 509 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
