Betty Jean Barnes Hargis

Mrs. Betty Jean Barnes Hargis, of the Barnesburg Community, went to be with Jesus Saturday morning May 6, 2017 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital having attained the age of 85 years.She was preceded in death by; her husband, Harold Hargis; her parents, John B. and Hepsa Mayfield Barnes; her siblings, Hubert Leon Barnes, BJ Barnes, Louise Barnes Combs, and Ruby June Phelps; her mother-in-law, Golda Hargis,; Father-in-law, Walter Hargis; her sisters-in-law, Vera (and Ray) Hargis, Imogene (and Arnold) Stogsdill, Violet (and Dewey) Hargis, Christine Hargis, Etta Barnes, Elouise Barnes, and Marie Barnes, brothers-in-law, Wayne Hargis, Howard Hargis , Raymond Combs and Phillip Phelps.one nephew, Carlos Hargis, Jr. and one niece, Jean Barnes.Survivors include; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hughes of Somerset, KY; a son, Harold Gene (and Shelly) Hargis of Somerset, KY; four grandsons that she loved dearly, Koby Ray Hargis, Konner Rhett Hargis, Kameryn Ross Hargis and Kade Riley Hargis. Also surviving is Sisters and brothers in law, Gladys (and Clell) Whitaker, Ella B. Phelps, Nadine (and Wayne Lee) Phelps, Jetta (and Wayne) Richardson, Mavis Hargis, Joanne Hargis, Bill Phelps, and Carlos Hargis all of Somerset, KY and a host of nieces and nephews whom she was very fond of.Betty was a member of Whetstone Baptist Church, and a wonderful loving Christian mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Barnesburg Cemetery.The family of Mrs. Betty Jean Hargis will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 1:30 Tuesday until time for services.Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Mrs. Betty Jean Hargis.
