Billy Joe Gooch, 85, of Eubank, KY, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 9, 2020 with his beautiful wife, Doris by his side. Bill was born on April 11,1935 to Cecil and Lola Gooch and was the youngest of 8 children. Bill married Doris on June 22, 1954 and they made their home there on the family farm. Bill and Doris have two daughters, Teresa Combs and Betty Gooch. He was a lifelong member and deacon at Liberty Baptist Church where he will be laid to rest. Bill began his lifetime career as a diesel mechanic and managed several tractor/farm equipment service departments throughout his life and retired self-employed. He was viewed as one of the best mechanic minds in the area and people sought his expertise on a regular basis. Bill was a devoted and loving husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle, and neighbor to many. He never met a stranger, enjoyed telling all kinds of funny stories and never turned his back on someone in need. He was a Christian man who led by example and loved the Lord which showed through his actions and his sweet loving nature. Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years Doris, daughters Teresa (Steve) Combs, Betty Gooch, Grandson Dustin Brown, Granddaughters, Tarah (Clay) Muntz, Payge (Chris Lines, Great-Grandkids, Elijah, Ella Kate, Emery Muntz, Brother James (Laverne) Gooch and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Billy Joe “Bill” Gooch will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14th, 2020 at the Liberty Baptist Church at Crab Orchard. Burial Will follow there at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Mr. Billy Joe “Bill” Gooch will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday July 13th, and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time for services at the Liberty Baptist Church. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Mr. Billy Joe Gooch.
