Brenda Mounce

Brenda Joyce Dix-Mounce, age 82, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Care Center surrounded by her loving family and entered into the presence of her Lord & Savior.

She was born June 19, 1943 in Brandenburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Eli & Louise Hartman Thomas Dix. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Benham, and her brothers, Gus, Donald, and Hobert Dix.

Brenda retired from Somerset Refinery as a bookkeeper and was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed reading her Bible and other books, gardening, taking care of her flowers, watching her birds, and crossword puzzles. One of Brenda's favorite trips was to the Holy Land in 2006. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, William "Bill" Earl Mounce, whom she married on February 14, 1986; her children, Chip Hazlerig, Shannon Killion, Bob & (Lori) Mounce, Jennifer & (Jimmy) Quillen, and Christy & (Steve) Dixon; one brother, Jessie Pony Dix; twelve grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 at 1PM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Vance and grandson Bro. Brandon Todd officiating.

Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 11AM until time for services at Pulaski Funeral Home.

The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Todd, David Quillen, Blake Mounce, JT Quillen, Dimitri Hazlerig, Don Beckley, and Brian Gregory. Honorary pallbearers will be William Willoughby and Austin Smith and Thomas Smith.
