Collas Simpson

Mr. Collas Simpson, son of the late Logan and Suzie Jones Simpson, was born at Kidder, KY on Tuesday, December 20, 1927 and he departed this life on Thursday, July 6, 2017 having attained the age of 89 years.He was united in marriage to Gloria Voline Simpson on November 20, 1954, she preceded him in death on March 21, 2015. Three daughters blessed this union; Kathy (and William C.) Lewis of Burnside, KY, Karen (and Jeff) Cress of Somerset, KY, and Karla (and Douglas) Parker of Corbin, KY. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jeffrey Cress, Jr., Joni Cress, Moriah Parker, Caleb Parker, John Lewis, and Alison Lewis; two great grandchildren, Gavin Colarusso, and Korbin Cress; and one sister, Geraldine Young.Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by; three brothers, Eugene Simpson, Harold Simpson, and Joe F. Simpson; and eight sisters, Goldie Dodson, Topsy New, Estileen Bogle. Anna Lee Nelson, Vietta New, Ina Skeen, Juanita Simpson, and Emma Jean Casada.Collas was a veteran, and an educator and the Principal of Burnside School for many years. He was a very respected person in his field of endeavor. He enjoyed hiking and the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. Collas was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church. He was a wonderful father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.A funeral service for Mr. Collas Simpson will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.The family of Collas Simpson will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 until time for services at 3:00 p.m.Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Mr. Collas Simpson.
