Donald Wells

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Lee Wells, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Don passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on March 6, 1959, in Defiance, Ohio, Don was the cherished son of Ivan and Connie Wells (née Starcher).

Don grew up with a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, a value he carried throughout his years. His commitment to hard work and his love for the land led him to a fulfilling career in farming, where he spent many years nurturing the earth and tending to diesel machines. His work was more than just a job; it was a testament to his character and dedication.

A man of many talents, Don found joy in working on cars-a passion that brought him endless satisfaction and peace. His hands, often covered in grease and oil, were skilled and gentle, capable of bringing broken engines back to life. In his garden, Don's green thumb was evident as he cultivated a green thumb was evident as he cultivated a variety of plants, sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and family. Cooking was another of Don's great pleasures, and his kitchen was always filled with the enticing aromas of his latest culinary creations.

Don's life was enriched by the love of his family. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Dasia Wells, and his cherished grandson, Isaiah Bauman, who brought immense joy to his life. His sisters, Debra McGinnis and Dianna Wells, held a special place in his heart, as did his longtime girlfriend, Myrna DeView, who stood by his side through life's many adventures and challenges.

Though Don has left this earthly realm, his spirit and legacy live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His warmth, laughter, and unwavering kindness touched everyone he met, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
