Donnie Butch Whitaker, 77, of Somerset passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Laurel Co., Kentucky on April 10, 1946; son of the late Thurman Lee and Carrie Velma Whitaker. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In his younger years he enjoyed boating and four wheeling; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith, and attended Bethany Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Renee Kuehn & (David) of Lincoln, NE; brothers, Benny Dale Whitaker of Science Hill, Danny Whitaker & (Jan) of Somerset, Steve Whitaker, and Micah "George" Whitaker both of Indianapolis; sisters, Norma Price & (Joe) of Somerset, Janet Phelps & (Wade) of Science Hill, Patty Ping & (Denton) of Somerset, Tammy Glover & (Kenneth) of Nancy; two grandchildren, Jennifer Davis of Lincoln, NE, and Rashell Chubb of Ozark, MO; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Virginia Whitaker of California, and Lisa Whitaker of Somerset; a brother-in-law, Doug Hart of Somerset; a long time special friend, Joy Randolph; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman Lee and Carrie Velma Whitaker; two brothers, Cecil Whitaker and Mickey Whitaker; and two sisters, Hazel Whitaker and Jody Hart.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, October 23, 2023 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Bullock officiating.
Burial will be in Renfro Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
