Dorothy Lee Hewitt Beckman, 87 years old, of Somerset, passed away on Sunday, June 21,2020 at the home of her daughter, Ronette Patton in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born in Grundy (Pulaski County), Kentucky on July 16,1932 to Charles and Minnie Rowe Hewitt (Hughett). Dorothy was a loving, caring, nurturing, selfless, strong, independent woman with a beautiful smile and unconditional love for her family. She loved the Lord, listening to gospel music, WLJC, cooking for loved ones and tending to her yard and flowers and she also enjoyed sitting on her porch swing enjoying the sunshine and birds. Her favorite pasttime was Facebook, texting, sharing pictures and daily phone calls to/from family and friends. She is survived by one son, Ralph Beckman (ex-wife Barbara) of Somerset, three daughters: Ronette Patton, Vincennes, Indiana, Kathy (Bob) Hawks of Bradenton, Florida, Rosemarie (Doug) Brown of Miramar, Florida; 10 grandchildren; Ryan Hawks, Meredith (Chris) Hines, Erik, Lorilee, Ami, Mary Kathryn and Ali Beckman, Jasey (Ben) Hartz, Savannah King and Kristen Brown; Ten great grandchldren; Anna Taylor (D'Angelo) Reid, Ashley and Paul Hawks, Hadley and Josslyn Hines, Slevin Redmond, Scout Reynolds, Sunni Reynolds, Gabriel and Liam Beckman and special fur-baby, Peanut! Dorothy is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Ronald Beckman, infant daughter, Elaine, her parents, an Uncle and Aunt who raised her, Amos and Nannie Rowe Jones, brothers; Homer (wife, Cora Bee) and Chester (wife, Lou), sisters Mary Katherine Hewitt and Betty Jean (husband, Alf) Renschler, son-in-law, Carl Patton and daughter-in-love, Cindie Jones Sears. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Pulaski Funeral Home with Brother Jason Moore officiating. Visitation prior to the Service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Rock Lick Cemetery. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Dorothy Lee Hewitt Beckman at this time.
