Dorothy Gilliam

Dorothy Bates Gilliam, age 98, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Cumberland Nursing & Rehabilitation in Somerset, KY.

She was born September 16, 1927 to the late William & Olga (Placke) Bates in Grundy, KY. Dorothy loved her collection of butterflies and angels.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Lee and Anita Lee Williams; three grandchildren, Rodney & (Shellby) Vulgamore, Heather Marie Williams & (Matt Jones), and Micah Williams; one great-grandchild, Brylynn Jones; and one sister, Edna Mae Compton. She is also survived by several extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jack Lee; her second husband, Grant Gilliam; and 11 siblings.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Rock Lick Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for services at Pulaski Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
