Douglas Harold Colyer was born April 9,1953 in Somerset, Ky and departed this life July 20, 2026. Doug was the oldest child of Noble and Loretha Meece Colyer. Doug spent his early years in Ohio coming to Kentucky on weekends where his grandparents lived. Doug was of the Baptist faith attending church in Ohio and Kentucky.
Doug returned to Ky after a job closure in Ohio and did substitute teaching until he took a position with the Ky department of forestry as a forest ranger.

Doug is survived by one sister Donna (James) Brown Fairfield, Ohio, two nieces Emily Brown and Allison Randle. Two nephews Jacob Brown and Harry (Felicia) Schlie and one great niece and nephew.
In addition to his parents Doug was preceded in death by one sister Brenda Colyer.

A graveside service will be held at Wesley Chapel Cemetery Monday July 27,2026 at 2:00 PM With Bro. Ron Meece officiating. Doug will be open for viewing from 1:30 until services.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Hillcrest Nursing and to Baptist Health of Corbin, Kentucky for all of the excellent that they gave Doug during his illness.
