Edward Leroy Mick, 86, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away at his residence on October 26, 2025. Edward was born in Naoma, West Virginia on November 15, 1938 and was the youngest of three sons born to Herbert Van and Lula Maxine West Mick. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Herbert Van II and John Haddix Mick along with sister-in-law, Gabie Mick.
In 1961, Edward married Joyce Fay Bryant in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 8th. They were married 64 years and had two children, Janeta Lynn and Dawn Ann Mick.
Aside from his wife and daughters, Edward is survived by sisters-in-law Barbra (Charles) Howard and June Mick. Brothers-in-law W. Ronald (Pat) Bryant and Tom (Norma) Bryant, along with several nieces and nephews.
Edward was a member of Walnut Hills Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio and was proud to be an Army veteran. He was an accomplished athlete in his younger days, being an All-State basketball player and a West Virginia state basketball champion in 1957 along with his Burch High School teammates.
Later in life he pursued coaching with his brother, John, and was elected to the Knothole Hall of Fame in Norwood, Ohio for their victories and contributions to the game of baseball.
Edward was a former insurance agent and retired United States Postal worker. He earned his realtor license after the age of 70 in order to sell real estate in his spare time. However, most would remember him as a door greeter at Walmart. He simply loved to work.
Visitation will be held at Pulaski Funeral Home on October 30, 2025. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. on October 31, 2025 at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio with Brother Kevin Benne officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to God's Food Pantry.
