Elsie Barrett Leach

Elsie Barrett Leach of Somerset, KY passed away on January 10, 2024 . She was born January 08, 1930 to the late Joseph and Grace Jones Ambrose of Berea, KY. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Barrett on November 7th, 1946 and to this union was born one son; Tommy Wayne Barrett who resides at Lascassas, TN. Mr. William "Bill" Barrett went home to be with the Lord on April 19. 1993. Elsie was later married to Mr. Garland "Jack" Leach who also preceded her in death.

Elsie was a homemaker and a retired employee of Roses Department Store where she worked for more than 27 years.  She was later a volunteer for Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for 20 years and a member of the Langdon Street Baptist Church where she was active as long as her health permitted. She loved her church and church family very much.

Survivors include her son, Tommy Wayne Barrett of Lascassas, TN; three grandchildren, Ashley Barrett, Kyle Wayne Barrett of Cookville, TN and Thomas William Barrett of Clay City, KY; seven great grandchildren; two step-daughters; Louise Jasper of Denver, CO, and Linda Henry of Shelbyville, KY; three step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; two very special nieces, Vicki Short and Elsie Reed of Berea, KY, she loved all of her nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the Pulaski Funeral Home for Elsie on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Logan Hargis officiating. Burial will follow in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Elsie Leach will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 until time for services.
