Everett Dunaway

Everett Odell Dunaway, the son of the late Ernest and Naomi Dunaway was born on March 26, 1939 and passed at the home of his son and daughter-in-law Edward and Laura Dunaway on March 19, 2026 at the age of 86. He was married to the late Patricia Dunaway for 55 years. He is survived by two sons, Edward and Jamie, three special grandchildren, Christina, Tommy and Blake as well as a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Mike, Gene and Paul as well as sisters Kay and Norma. Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah, as well as brothers Arvel, Bobby, Phillip, Ernest, Danny and David, and sisters Sarah, Sue, Patty, and Edith.

Odell grew up Buena Vista in Garrad county, where he left school after the 3rd grade to help work on the farm. After marrying Patricia, he worked for many years as a plumber for J. H. Middleton plumbing in Lexington KY. He left that and became self-employed for several years before retiring. After retiring he moved to Somerset where he resided until his passing.

Odell was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved being outdoors in a forest hunting or on a lake or river fishing. He was a shade-tree mechanic who could fix most anything mechanical. He was a life-long Cincinnati Reds fan as well as a University of Kentucky basketball fan. He also loved most motorsports, especially NASCAR and rarely missed a televised race. He loved westerns , both movies and TV shows and had read nearly everything written by Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour.

A funeral service for Mr. Everett Dunaway will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mr. Everett Dunaway will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time for services.
