Frances Aliene Poynter, 98 passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab in Somerset, KYShe was born in Dabney, KY on Friday, July 23, 1920 daughter of the late Charles M. and Rose Alexander Vaught. She was united in marriage to Mr. Clarence Poynter January 31, 1942. He preceded her in death in 2008.She is survived by; her son, Donald (and Patty) Poynter, and her daughter, Sandy Poynter Smith of Somerset. She is also survived by the following grandchildren, Joey Poynter of Somerset, Robyn Smith (and Steven) Kuhn of Knoxville, TN and the following great grandchildren, Juliana & Jackson Kuhn also of Knoxville, TN who truly adored their Nannie!Other than her parents and husband, Mrs. Poynter was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie (and Garvel) Spears and Ruth (and Rufus) Brittian as well as one son-in-law, Bob Smith.Aliene was a housewife, and the oldest life member of the Eden Baptist Church. She had a green thumb and grew the most beautiful flowers in her flower garden. She was a kind and loving person who will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.The family would like to thank the following pallbearers for being there for the family in this time of need; Steven Kuhn, Jackson Kuhn, Joey Poynter, Rudy Brittian, Kyle Albright and Bobby Edwin Poynter. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Weddle and Bro. David Pendley officiating. Burial will follow in the Eden Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Frances Aliene Poynter will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Friday until time for services.In Lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, or the Eden Cemetery Fund.
