Frank Oliver Yahnig of Somerset, Kentucky passed away, Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at his home; 22 days shy of his 99th birthday.
He was born in Grundy, Kentucky on January 21, 1927, the son of the late Joe Richard and Clara Simpson Yahnig. Frank was a 1945 graduate of Ferguson High School and a World War II Army Veteran attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant 4. Frank was married to his devoted wife Pearl Jones on December 20, 1947 in Somerset, Kentucky until her passing September 15, 2010. Frank was a 1987 retired Postal Clerk from the Somerset Post Office. He was a dairy and beef farmer, avid gardener, and beekeeper. He worked for Pulaski Furniture Company as a salesman and installer. Frank was a faithful member of the Somerset First Church of God for the past 98 years where he served as a Trustee, Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, and Custodian.
Frank is survived by his daughter Judith (Judy) Greene, her husband Bill Broussard, and granddaughter Kimberly Greene all of Somerset; one sister Josephine Yahnig Elliott of Guymon, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Johnny Yahnig, Harry Yahnig, Christine Yahnig Knopp, Richard Yahnig, Dudley Yahnig, Albert Yahnig, Jessie Yahnig Dalton, and son-in-law Donald Greene.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services for Frank Oliver Yahnig will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, 11:00 AM at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Brummett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with Military Honors.
Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
