Glenda Massey

Glenda Joyce Harris Massey, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025 surrounded by those who loved her.

Glenda was born on January 21,1941 in the Shopville Community to Roscoe "Toss" Harris and Edna Bullock Harris and was the fifth of their six children. Glenda was raised on the family farm and attended Shopville School. On June 29, 1963, Glenda married the love of her life, James "Jim" Massey. Together they built a beautiful family and had a home filled with love for their 2 children, Jenny and Doug, as well as their 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Glenda retired from Palm Beach Clothing Company after 43 years of service, where she made many lifelong friends. She devoted her days to taking care of anyone she saw in need and tending to her flowerbeds. Above all, she was a Christian who provided a Godly home for her beloved family.

Glenda was preceded in death by her recently departed husband of 62 years, James Garner Massey, her parents Toss and Edna Harris, and her brothers Hollis, Delvin, and Maurice Harris and sisters Wilda Eaton and Connie Lewis.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son James Douglas Massey, her daughter Jennifer Lynn Massey, grandchildren Melissa (and Joseph) Jones, Megan (and Joshua) Norris, Trenton Massey, Haley (and Zack Smiley) and great grandchildren Sophie and Sadie Jones, Caraline, Levi and Andrew Norris, Alexis, Asher, and Aaron Smiley.

A private service was held at the request of Mrs. Massey.

Pulaski Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility and Hospice of Somerset for their love and constant support of "Granny".
