Glenda Joyce Harris Massey, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on January 21, 1941 in Plato, Kentucky, to the late Edna Bullock Harris and Roscoe "Toss" Harris. Glenda was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith and unwavering devotion to her Family.
On June 29, 1963 she married the love of her life, James G. Massey, with whom she share a full life of love, laughter,and resilience. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James, her parents Toss and Edna, her brothers, Hollis "Honey" Harris, Delvin Harris, and Maurice Harris and her sisters Wilda (Kenneth) Eaton and Connie Lou Lewis.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Massey of Knoxville, Tennessee, and her son, James Douglas Massey, of Somerset, Kentucky. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Melissa Jones (and Joseph), Megan Norris (and Josh) , Trenton Massey, and Haley Massey Smiley (and Zack). Her legacy continues in her eight great- grandchildren, Sophie Jones, Sadie Jones, Caraline Norris, Levi Norris, Andrew Norris, Alexis Smiley, Asher Smiley, and Aaron Smiley.
Glenda worked for 43 years at the Palm Beach Company, where she was known for her dedication and craftsmanship. A lifelong fan of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball, she rarely missed a game and loved cheering on her team. In her quiet moments, she found joy in journaling, spending time outdoors, and tending to the needs of those she loved.
To know Glenda was to feel cared for. Her home was always open,her heart always full. She had a gift for making others feel seen and cherished, and she took great pride in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world.
A private service was held at the request of Mrs. Massey.
Pulaski Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
