Iva Jean Sullivan Slaven passed away on October 7, 2026 in Richland, Virginia.
She was born in Kidder, Kentucky on December 13, 1940 to Arvil and Viney Lou Black Sullivan.
Iva Jean Loved her family and spent her life making a home for them and took great pleasure in spending time with them all. She especially enjoyed being with her daughters and grand daughters and made many wonderful memories with them on vacations to the beach, which was one of her favorite places. She was a woman of faith and loved the Lord, old gospel hymns were her favorite and she liked to sing them and talk about the Bible. She was the cornerstone of her family and she will be greatly missed.

She leaves behind Her Daughter Sheila Perkins and her two sons Ricky (Sherry) Slaven and Terry Baker, her grandchildren; Jessica Slaven , Kelsey Slaven, Nicholas Slaven, and NaRika Gray, a sister; Hazel Dancy, a brother; Ronnie (Linda) Sullivan, a brother in law Rusty Flynn, well as her great grand children, nieces nephews and other family members who will miss her greatly.

Iva Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; Roy Slaven and Clifford Howland, sisters Joyce Flynn and Bonnie Sullivan, three brothers James Sullivan, Bobby Sullivan, and Jerry Wayne Sullivan, her son in law Paul Perkins and a grand daughter Ashley Slaven.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home at 3:00 PM with Pastor Lonnie Perkins officiating.


The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home from 2:00 PM till time for services.

Burial will be in Quinton Cemetery in Bronston, Kentucky.
