James C. "J.C." McDowell

Mr. James C. “JC” McDowell, 76, of the Alpine community passed away July 15th, 2020 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Stab, Ky to Clifford and Nola McKee McDowell. He was proceeded in death by his parents and five brothers, Howard, Denver, Dean, Ronald and Jerry McDowell. He is survived by his loving, faithful wife of 55 years, Pamela Branscom McDowell, two children, James C. McDowell, Jr. (and Melinda) of Peach Tree City, GA and Shannon McDowell (and Joseph) LaChappelle of Louisville, KY, three grandchildren, Malerie and Patrick McDowell and Jamie Marie LaChappelle and one sister Judy (and DC) Muse of Somerset, Ky. He is also survived by a special friend, Larry Decker of the Alpine Community. He worked at Tecumseh Products for 28 years where he was a Maintenance Supervisor. He was a long-time member of Burnside Masonic Lodge #634, where he served as Master in 1976. He was also a 32nd degree York Rite Mason. Mr. McDowell was a member of Neely’s Creek Baptist Church. He was known for his strong moral character and was someone who always put the needs of his family above his own. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Simply put, he was a good man. Visitation will be at the Pulaski Funeral home on Sunday, July 19th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed immediately by the funeral service there. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to American Liver Foundation, which can be done at www.liverfoundation.org.
