James L. Ross

U.S. Veteran Lt. Commander James L. Ross, son of the late Edgar Creech and Alice M. Foster Ross, was born in Casey County, KY on February 1, 1941 and he departed this life on Monday, July 29, 2019 having attained the age of 78 years.He is survived by his wife, Hilda "Jeannette" Roberts Ross who he happily married on April 29, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio. James is survived by one son, Lt. Commander James Mitchell Ross and his wife Jackie of Camp Lejune, N. C; one daughter, Alicia M. Sones and her husband Phillip; one grandson, Samuel James Ross; and three brothers, Norman C. Ross of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Wilburn L. Ross of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jerry G. Ross of Largo, Florida.He is proceeded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.James was a retired Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy having served on board the USS Boston and the USS Hunley. He completed his military career at Portsmith Naval Hospital in Virginia. Following his Naval career he worked for UNC Hospitals in Materials Management  retiring in 1999. His hobbies included, traveling with his wife and family, surfing the web, reading, golfing, and shooting. His greatest love involved being around family and friends.Mr. Ross was a fun loving person who enjoyed life to the fullest and leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing and celebrate his life.A funeral service for James Ross will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Hixson officiating. The family of Mr. Ross will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. Friday until time for services. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 38. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
