James Lewis Price

James "J.L." Price, 78, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on August 29, 2026 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab.

J.L. , as he was known by his friends and Family, was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on July 15, 1948 to Odell and Lena Mize Price. He was a graduate of Shopville High School.
J.L. taught Science at Pulaski County High School from which he retired. He was someone who valued solitude and Peaceful living. He liked to pass time playing his guitar and watching U.K. Basketball on Television. He loved to fish and took trips to Canada and often fished with friends on Buck Creek where he enjoyed spending time.

J.L. is survived by one child, Claudette (John) Prather their son, Jackson Prather, Two nephews, Scott (Melody) Price, Greg (Gretchen) Price, a great nephew, Jarred (Mistie) Price, two great nieces, Felicity Price and Liza Price, a sister in Law, Sondra Price, a cousin, Tim Price (Regina Brinson) and his children, as well as Cousins Tamara Price, and June Carey, special friends; Gordon Sewell, Clyde and Karen Daughtee, Jeff and Bonita Stringer and Tommy Butcher.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Odell and Lena Price and one brother, David Price.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Bro. Chris Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Garden.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or The Short Creek Cemetery Fund.
