Mr. John Thomas Burton, son of the late Dennis and Audie Pearl Brock Burton was born at Delmer, KY on July 17, 1934 and he departed this life on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026 having attained the age of 91 years.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Dunsmore Burton, She preceded him in death.
Two children blessed this union; Larry (and Jenny) Burton and Gene (and Sandy) Burton all of Somerset. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Heather Criswell of Somerset, Kim (and Mark) Denney of Eubank, Jason (and Kelly) Burton of London, KY and Matt (and Vanessa) Burton of Science Hill, KY; seven great grandchildren; Madison Criswell, Connor and Clara Denney, Andrew Burton, and Braxton, Bryton, and Benton Burton; one brother Gary Burton; one sister, Zella Harris and special friend, Jo Garner and a host friends and loved ones to mourn his passing.
Other than his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dexter, Harrison, and Leonard Burton and two sisters, Ollie McGlothlin and Louella Davenport.
John owned several service stations during his lifetime, then became the owner of B & M Sanitation. Upon selling his interest there, he worked at All Seasons Lawn Equipment for 30 years. In his retirement, john loved keeping his house spic and span and also enjoyed working in his yard. He was a christian man and attended the Somerset First Church of the Nazarene, and later the Lake Cumberland Church of the Nazarene. John was a kind and gentle soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 18th at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mr. John Thomas Burton will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 17th and after 9:00 a.m. Monday morning until time for services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
