John Jordan Patterson

John Jordan Patterson, age 35, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Bryson City, North Carolina.

He was born November 2, 1990 to Johnny Patterson and Patricia Whitis in Somerset, Kentucky. John was a true free spirit who lived life in his own genuine and unforgettable way. He found joy in the simple things, from collecting arrowhead artifacts to Pokemon to riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, and playing pool. He had a special appreciation for Red-tailed Hawks. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and the Green River Archaeological Society of Kentucky.

He is survived by his parents, Johnny Patterson and Patricia Whitis; three children, Braxton Cole Sears-Patterson of Somerset, KY, Grayson John Patterson of Belfont, PA, and Addison Vera Patterson of Belfont, PA; one brother, Brian Simpson of Somerset, KY; one sister, Chelsay Simpson of Somerset, KY; maternal grandmother, Juanita Whitis of Somerset, KY; two aunts, Kim & (Stan) Abney of Science Hill, KY, and Renita Wagner of Indiana; two nieces and one nephew, Alyson Simpson, Ashton Simpson, and Brynley Gooch; a host of cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Don & Elfreda Patterson; and his maternal grandfather, Bruce Whitis.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 21, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pulaski Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Eggers officiating.

Burial will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
