John R Smith

John Robert Smith, 62, of Somerset, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on November 14, 1957; son of the late Wilmer Smith and Frances Alexander Smith Abbott. He was a retired carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, climbing trees, and gardening. He had a knack for fixing things, and enjoyed building. He especially loved his dogs, Bud and Mowgly.

He is survived by his two daughters, Amber Smith, and Brittany Smith; his sisters, Patty Bausum, Bertha Stigall, Delores Loveless, and Sue Harrison; one brother, Dennis Smith; and four grandchildren, Ava Smith, Waylon McCoy, Aiden McCoy, and Noah Mounce.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rosemary Adkins and, Rena Victoria Griffith; and three brothers, Lloyd Smith, Jim Smith, and Roger Smith who died in infancy.

Private services will be held by the family at a later date.
