Joyce Louise Brinson, 87, passed away on October 31, 2026, at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center while under the compassionate care of Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
Joyce was born on August 25, 1939 to the late Edward and Christine Erp. She was a faithful member of Rock Lick Baptist Church and lived her life with strong faith, a loving heart, and a deep devotion to her family.
She loved a simple life and found joy in the things that mattered most. Whether she was working on the farm, tending her garden, growing beautiful flowers, sewing, camping, traveling, or simply spending time outdoors, Joyce was happiest when she was keeping busy and enjoying God's creation. She worked hard throughout her life and taught those around her the value of faith, perseverance, and caring for others.
More than anyting Joyce loved her family. Being a Mother and Mamaw was the greatest joy of her life. She was always there with a listening ear, a helping hand, and unconditional love. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and friends. The memories made at family gatherings, holidays, on the porch, and in everyday moments will be treasured forever. Her love, strength, and guidance helped shape the lives of those who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her grandchildren, Melissa (Johnny) Gipson, Russell Brinson, and Carly (Logan) Tipton; her great grandchildren, Brianna (Colton) Brown, Braden (Cameron) Gipson, Trenton Gipson, and Whitlee Brinson; her great- great-grandaughters, Madalyn Brown and Ellie Gipson; and her daughters-in-law, Judy Brinson and Regina Brinson Price, along with several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Garland Brinson, and her cherished sons, Kenneth Brinson and Timothy Brinson.
While our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the many years, memories, lessons, and love that Mamaw gave so freely. Her family was her greatest blessing, and her legacy will live on through each of us. We find comfort in Knowing she has been reunited with those she loved and is resting peacefully with her Lord and Savior.
Joyce will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts. Her love will continue to guide us, and her memory will remain a treasured part of our family for generations to come.
