Judith Elaine "Judy" Rogers, age 84 of Somerset, KY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 11, 2026.
Judith Elaine was born on January 12, 1942 and grew up in Russell Springs, a daughter of the late Raymond and Ertress Higginbotham. Judy loved to share stories of growing up in the farming community of Ono with her younger brother, Rudy, whom she loved dearly. She was a retired employee of the Somerset Independent School System where she served faithfully for 35 years. Judy loved to decorate, collect antiques, sew, crochet and needlepoint. She also loved decorating her home, cooking wonderful meals for her family, and was well known for her fudge making. Most importantly, Judy was a God-fearing woman who cherished her relationship with the Lord. She was a member of the Beacon Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Rudy Higginbotham and a great grandson, Henry Coomer. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, David Rogers and her children; Terri Lane Coomer (and Rolan) and Tony Massey. Her Step-sons, Bryan Rogers (and Julia) and Travis Rogers (and Cynthia); six grandchildren, John Coomer (and Lindsey Floyd), Austin (and Hannah) Coomer, Lea Ellen McKee, Clara Rogers, Mara Rogers, and Jace Rogers; four great grandchildren, Evelyn Marie Floyd, Charlotte Grace Coomer, and Casen Thomas McKee.
Though her passing leaves a deep emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, we find comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior. She faithfully carried her family and loved ones in prayer. Her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, and her love and legacy will continue to live on through her family and all who knew her.
A service honoring her life will be held at the graveside in Barnesburg Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 17th, 2026.
The family will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Thursday, September 17th, 2026.
The following people will be acting as her pallbearers: Bryan Rogers, Travis Rogers, Jace Rogers, Austin Coomer, John Coomer, and Patrick Higginbotham. In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Judy Rogers.
