Kenneth Jones

Kenneth Darrell Jones, Sr., age 85 passed from this life on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center.

Kenneth was born on November 12, 1939 in Chicago, IL to the late Fred and Katherine Jones. At the age of four, Kenneth, along with his siblings, Michael and Cheryl, moved to Somerset to live with his paternal grandparents, Virgil Jones and Willie Meece Jones. He was a maintenance supervisor for Pulaski Co. Housing Authority. He was a member of Davis Chapel AME Church. Kenneth loved his church family, family and friends. He loved telling stories of his childhood, growing up with his brother, sister and many cousins. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by three daughters, Kim Jones of Louisville, Theresa Jones and Jerri Jones of Somerset; two sons, Kenneth Jones, Jr. of Louisville, and Greg Jones of Somerset; grandchildren, Courtney Jones, Corey Jones, Jalen Jones, and Kelsey Jones of Somerset, Kayli & (Michael) Erives of San Diego, CA., Eric Jones of Science Hill; along with thirteen great-grandchildren; a special friend, Ed Cook.

Along with his grandparents who raised him; he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Michael Jones, one sister, Cheryl Jones Hunter, also those who loved and cared for him; seven aunts, Evelyn Pennington, Stella Cunningham, Edna Strong, Garnett McCoy, Madeline Miller, Norma Goggins, and Jacqueline Perkins; three uncles, Raymond Jones, Robert Jones, and John Jones. A special cousin he lovingly called "the sweetest cousin and person in the world", Marjorie Kaye Jamison.

A funeral service will be held at 12 PM Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Pastor Yusef Franklin officiating.

The family will receive friends after 11 AM Saturday, July 26, 2025 until time for services.

Burial will be in Stanford Pike Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Marcus Jones, Eric Jones, Corey Jones, George Martinez, Stacey Duncan, and Larry Cunningham, Jr.
