On Oct. 8, 2025, Leah Marie Baker passed away at her home in Lexington, Ky. She was 53.
Born March. 5, 1972, in Pontiac, Mich., Leah was the daughter of the late Billy and Linda Baker. She worked as a radiology department manager at Lexington Clinic and, later, as a hair stylist for Lexington's senior population.
Leah always celebrated a richly colorful life, as evidenced by her affection for peacock feathers, platform high heels, and vegan leather jackets. She was the person who adopted senior chihuahuas and gave them a loving home for their remaining years. A proud breast cancer survivor, she would always check in on others to see how their own cancer journeys were progressing. She was bold, fiercely intelligent, hardworking and deeply kind. Her deepest love was for her daughter, Kennedy Cohenour.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Left behind to mourn her passing are her daughter Kennedy of Lexington; friend and Kennedy's dad Art (Ashleigh) Cohenour of Broomfield, Colo.; brother William (Tara) Baker of Somerset, Ky.; sister Teresa (Scott) Clough of Lancaster, Ky.; nephews Eric (Emily) Clough of Lancaster, and Reece Clough of Richmond, Ky.; and niece Gabrielle Baker of Somerset.
Funeral services will be conducted at Pulaski County Funeral Home Saturday, Oct. 18. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and funeral will follow. Leah was passionate about animals, so, in lieu of flowers, the family humbly asks that donations be made to The Lexington Humane Society (lexingtonhumanesociety.org).
Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
