Lena Mae Gilbert

Lena Mae (Bingham) Gilbert, 78, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at her residence.

She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on September 20, 1940; daughter of the late Boyd and Lora Simpson Bingham. She loved her Lord, enjoyed reading, playing BINGO, and enjoyed watching Hour of Harvest every evening. She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Jim Gilbert of Kennesaw, GA, Teresa & (Thomas) Wicker of Elizabethtown, Lora "Susie" and (Jeff) Smith of Somerset, Michael & (Jamie) Gilbert of Ludington, MI, Anthony & (Doralda) Gilbert of Somerset, and Cynthia Helton also of Somerset; brothers, David & (Betty) Bingham of Somerset, Jim & (Irene) Bingham of Indianapolis, B. Paul & (Gwynn) Bingham of Indianapolis, Brent Bingham of Indianapolis; sisters, Mary & (Ed) Akin, Dorothy Colyer & (Hubert Carrender), and Karen & (Emanuel) Stogsdill all of Somerset; a sisters-in-law, Sue Bingham, and Pat Young; grandchildren, Amanda Peterson, Megan Wicker, Summer & (Travis) Bullock, Miranda & (Adam) Brown, Hadley & (Brian) Bullock, Heaven Bray, Darian & (Ryan) Farmer, Riley Gilbert, Christian Gilbert, Brittany & (Carlos) Gilestra, CJ Helton, Lakeisha & (Kyle) Moore, Sierra Davis; three special grandchildren, Marly Sheridan, Rily Whalen, and Lyndon Whalen; several great-grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fredrick Gilbert, Sr.; a son who died in infancy, Boyd Bradley; two great-grandchildren, Shannon Norris, and Hans Peterson, II; her parents; brothers, Lee & (Wanda) Bingham, Johnny & (Bertie) Bingham, Finley Bingham; and a sister, Elizabeth & (Wilbur) Wright.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Thomas Wicker officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Visitation for Ms. Lena Mae Gilbert will be after 11 AM Wednesday, September 11, 2019 until time for services at Pulaski Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Pine Hill Cemetery Fund.
