Major Leon Nolan, 82, of Somerset, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born in Richmond, Kentucky on October 8, 1942; son of the late John Grant and Nancy Drucella (Garrison) Nolan. He retired from Oakwood and was a retired Minister. He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. A skilled carpenter and true craftsman, he was known for his talent in building and creating with his hands. He also served faithfully as a preacher, sharing his faith and compassion with others. A passionate sports fan, he especially loved cheering on the University of Kentucky, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Los Angeles Lakers. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially in times of need, and was dedicated to assisting with disaster relief efforts wherever he could. He was a member of Acorn Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna (Carter) Nolan whom he married on December 16, 1967; his son, Jason & (Michelle) Nolan; daughter, Meredith & (Brian) Surber; grandchildren, Aubrey Nolan and Chad Nolan; great-grandchild, Aiden Snawder; a sister, Margaret Whitaker; a brother, John Grant Nolan, II. & (Barbara); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Grant and Nancy Drucella (Garrison) Nolan; siblings, Harold "Hoot" Nolan, Mary Catherine Roark, Christine Poynter, Henry Jack Nolan, Berniece Harris, Richard Nolan, and Angeline Whitaker.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating.
Burial will be in Acorn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 PM Friday, June 27, 2025 at Pulaski Funeral Home.
