Margaret Ellen Phelps Barron of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and friends on October 27, 2025.
She was born in the Meadow Creek Community of Wayne County, Kentucky on November 20, 1947, to Norman L. and Ina C. Phelps, both who preceded her in death.
She married the love of her life, Ira George Barron on August 14, 1964, the remained married for sixty - one years. To this union Margaret gave birth to one son, Gregory and Michelle Barron, whom she loved more than life and even though Michelle entered the family later, her and momma had a special bond.
Margaret has three grandchildren, Austin Barron who became the apple of her eye. Austin Lived with her and helped to take the best care of her, until the end of her life, granddaughters, Tela (Nathan) Elam of Monticello, Kentucky and Paige ( Kyle) Duckett of Cleveland, Tennessee. Tela, Paige and alayna carried a special place in her heart.
Margaret had five great grandchildren; Cassidy Elam, Colt Elam, Jensin Lee Black, Knoxlynn Duckett and Hadley Duckett.
She also had two special fur babies Cash and Allie.
Margaret was retired from General Electric where she was employed for thirty five years . She was one of four sisters, Pati Jones, Katherine (Richard) Hughes, and Jean (Herman) Campbell.She also had one neice Mandy Jones, three nephews Scott Jasper, Sam Hughes, and David Hughes as well as a host of extended family.
Margaret attended Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she was a member. She accepted Jesus as her personal Savior in life and stayed strong in her faith.
She was the sole guardian of Debra Rodgers and Anita Thomas through Serenity Foundations a position in life that she loved. She would dance gracefully through the house with them and they would always light up when granny came.
Margaret had a heart of gold and loved without condition and always went above and beyond for everyone who came into her life. This world will be emptier without her and she will be missed by so many.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Will Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time for services.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
