Martha Joyce Ricks

Martha Joyce Ricks, age 83 of Somerset, Ky. passed away on Saturday January 6, 2024 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab surrounded by family. Martha was born December 10, 1940 to the late Lacy Lloyd and Mary Dell Cannon.

Martha was a secretary for Hoover in Cadiz, Kentucky. Lake Cumberland Home Health in Somerset, Kentucky as well as Awana Club at Oak Hill Baptist Church. Arnolds Dress Shop was her first place of employment.

Martha was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until she physically could not; but that didn't stop her from doing God's work. She would watch online services. She continued her ministry through daily encouraging text and Facebook messages. We do not know how many people or lives she was able to be a part of.

She is survived by her sons, Tony & (Jeana) Ricks, and Alan & (Ronda) Ricks; grandchildren, Justin & (Cassie) Ricks, Jacob & (Alexa) Ricks, Brooklyn & (Tyler) Inglett, Tori Ricks, Allison Ricks, and Aspen Ricks; two great-grandchildren, Saylor Kay and Skylar Grace Ricks, and several other family members. 

Passing before her was the love of her life, Claudie Earl "Bud" Ricks of 45 years; her parents, Lacy Lloyd and Mary Dell Cannon; her brothers, Jerry Lloyd and Richard Cannon.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 11 to 1 with a funeral service starting at 1 PM at Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Harney and Bro. Alan Fisher officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
