Marvin Phillips

August 7, 1941 — February 16, 2021

Marvin Roy Phillips, the beloved Husband of Louise Phillips, was born on August 7, 1941 to the late Lewis and Christine Phillips of the Oakhill Community. He passed from this life on February 16, 2021 at his residence. He attained the age of 79.

Marvin was retired from Local 576 Laborers Union, out of Louisville, Kentucky. Marvin’s greatest joy in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. Marvin enjoyed gardening, yard sales and collecting pretty much anything. He was a 1961 graduate of Ferguson High School. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was survived by his wife of 57 ½ years, Louise (Hargis) Phillips: His son and daughter in law, Anthony and Kristi Phillips. Two grandchildren, Nathaniel “Nate” Phillips and Natalie Phillips. Siblings Sam and Lyndora Phillips, Vivian and Phil Zeh, and Perry and Delores Phillips. He is also survived by In-laws Don and Martha Hargis, and Ruby Rose Barnes, along with many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces, great great nieces and great great nephews.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Stephen Mitchell Phillips.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday February 21st at 3:00pm at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral home with Bro Kurt Neeley and Bro Logan Hargis officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Oakhill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm on Sunday February 21st until the time of services. Because Marvin was a proud member, the family would request any expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers be to the building fund at Langdon Street Baptist Church. Those can be mailed to Langdon Street Baptist Church PO Box 33 Somerset KY 42502.

Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Phillips, Joey Hargis, David Hargis, David Nelson, Doug Nelson, Hunter Nelson and John David Nelson, Chris Phillips, and Mike Phillips.
