Mary Decker Passed away on February 17, 2026. She was born December 20, 1963 to James and Gladys Smith in Jessamine County, Kentucky.

Mary was a true culinary artist and passionate foodie who found joy in creating meals and memories around the table. As a dedicated homemaker, talented cake decorator, and event planner, she poured her creativity and love into every celebration, making birthdays, holidays, and everyday moments feel special through her beautiful and delicious creations.


She was a deeply involved and devoted parent during her children's younger years, serving in the PTA, chaperoning field trips, and spending countless hours crafting handmade treats and projects not only for her own children, but for their classmates as well. She used her talents as a way to show love to everyone around her.

Affectionately known as a doting Mamaw, she was incredibly proud of her grandchildren and was known to let them get away with far more than she ever allowed her own children.

She had an adventurous heart and loved a road trip, always eager for the next journey and the stories that would come with it.

Mary stood firmly in her beliefs. Above all else, she loved her husband more than anything in the world and was completely devoted to him.

Her legacy of strength, creativity, unconditional love, and her sparky, witty, and sassy personality will live on through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by; her husband, Kennith Decker, two daughters; Jennifer bates and her husband Luke, Tamara Newton and her husband Michael, her sisters; Patsy Bennett and her Husband John and Wanda Blevins, Ruby Smirh and her husband Jeff, a brother, Jim Smith and his wife Sherri, her three beloved grandchildren; Tate Newton and Bentley and Paisley Bates as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, James William and Gladys Mae Smith, a brother, Thomas Cleveland Smith, as well as her nieces; Stephanie Dawn Foster and April Spring Smith and one nephew, William Thomas Skeeter Perrin
