Listen to Obituary

On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the Lord called Missionary Mary Elizabeth Ingram-Tooley, age 87 from the toils of this life to rest in His presence.

She was born on April 24, 1938, in Somerset, KY, to the late Chester Arthur and Frances Lena Ingram. She was preceded in death by Deacon Marvin Tooley (husband), Thomas Lewis Ingram(son), Mary Elaine McCormack {Bish Donald L. McCormack} daughter, several sisters and brothers.

As a child she attended The Old Bourbon Schoolhouse and in her adult years worked as a domestic worker for local Doctors and their families. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith, Somerset Ky.

She leaves to cherish her memory, an Aunt Joyce Ann Goggins, three sisters: Barbara Ingram of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ellen Dean Raglin of Lexington, KY and Helen D. Perkins of Somerset, KY, her foster son Sebastian D. "Dusty" Walker (Kimberly), granddaughter DeLinda Newell, grandson-in-law Sean Newell, great-grandson Savion Newell, a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her beautiful bouquet of extended Church family.

Mother Mary Tooley was baptized in Jesus name many years ago by Pastor Paul Perkins in Monticello, Ky. As time passed, she was invited to go to Louisville, Ky to attend a Church service. It was her testimony that at the time, she'd had some doubt & concern in her heart about this "Holy Ghost" and whether she could receive it. But in the very moments that these thoughts were turning in her mind, she began to feel the Great Presence of God wash over her and she "fell out" in the spirit! "When I came too, I was speaking in other tongues as the spirit of GOD gives utterance!" (Acts 2:38) She has been a faithful missionary in service of the Lord, sharing HIS love with all that she met. She would often say "Be good for JESUS!"

Mother Tooley was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Port-au-Prince; Haiti doing missionary work and has always found joy in giving to others and helping the children in need. Her spiritual journey allowed her to open her home to Ministers for prayer services and to preach the Gospel or to just rest on their way to and from revival services. She has helped Pastors in Church labor in Somerset, Monticello, Lancaster, Glasglow, Tompkinsville, KY and many places in between.

We are thankful for the wisdom, the teachings and the love shown to us all by this Precious soul. She will be missed yet never forgotten.

"In my passing I hold nothing dear but fond memories of the time spent with family and friends. It is my final wish that you cherish these memories and keep them. And with every smile, I will again be with you." "Tell my JESUS I'm on my way home!"

A funeral service for Mary Elizabeth - Ingram Tooley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday October 29th at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bishop Earl D. Thornton officiating. Burail will follow in the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
