Mr. Ercie E. Baker, son of the late Alfred Ira and Cordia Delle Meece Baker, was born October 5, 1937 at Pig Trot, KY and he departed this life in Somerset, KY having attained the age of 81 years.He was first united in marriage to Thelma R. Taylor in 1958, she preceded him in death. He was later united in marriage to Janice Meece on January 5, 2009, she survives.Other survivors include; one son, Nathan (and Shelly) Baker of Georgetown, KY; one sister, Irene (and Floyd) Phelps of White Lily; two grandchildren, Elijah G. (and Hayley) Baker of Lexington and Jeslyn N. Baker of Georgetown; three stepchildren; multiple step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.Other than his parents and first wife, he was also preceded in death by; one brother, James Baker; one sister, Lois Meece, and one brother-in-law, Carl Meece.Ercie was a U.S. Army veteran. He was instrumental at helping to organize county water to the White Lily Community and was a member of the White Lily Fire Department. He had worked at several different occupations including, Southern Belle Dairy, Cumberland Wood and Chair, and the Square D Company in Lexington.Ercie was a long standing member of the White Lily Baptist Church and he was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.A funeral service for Mr. Ercie Baker will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at the White Lily Baptist Church with Bro. David Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the White Lily Baptist Church Cemetery.The family of Mr. Ercie Baker will receive friends at the White Lily Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. Friday until time for services.In Lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the White Lily Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Mr. Ercie Baker at this time.
