To Know Murrell Crockett was to love him and respect him. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and father in law. He passed away surrounded by his family as he peacefully slept. His "honey" wife Lucille Pyles Crockett was the love of his life. They were married on December 22nd, 1962. Together they created and adored a devoted family. Unconditional love was one of his many attributes. Murrell could be called many things throughout his life. Some include printer by trade, pastor at heart, gifted artist, and avid hunter and outdoorsman. One of his favorites was pastoring. Murrell loved the Lord with his whole being, and never hesitated to share his faith. Many churches in KY have had the honor of naming Murrell thier pastor. Including Wooten Baptist Church in Wooten, KY, Calvary Baptist Church in Harrodsburg, KY, Sherman Baptist Church in Dry Ridge, KY, Macintosh Mission in Wooten, KY, Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Faubush, KY and Hopeful Baptist Church and New Hope Baptist Church both in Nancy, KY. During his life Murrell carefully crafted black powder muzzeloaders by hand. Going as far as formulating intricate parts for the rifles himself. While he did craft the beautiful guns, he was also a skilled marksman winning multiple awards for his always accurate shot. Murrell did not often boast about his skills even though he had every reason to. His love for hunting and the outdoors was passed down to his grandsons who often claim he was the man who taught them most of what they know about the subject. The most difficult task has been trying to compose with words what kind of man Murrell Crockett was. There are not enough words accurate enough to represent him. To know Murrell Crockett was an honor; and he shall be loved and remembered for all the years to come.
