Nora Jean Johns

Nora Jean Gillespie Johns 71 died on July 11th 2019 at Spanish peaks nursing home in Walsenburg, Colorado, after a battle with bone cancer.  Nora was born August 20th 1947 in Somerset, Kentucky to Otis and Daisy Gillespie. She served in the United States Army from 1974 thru 1977. She is survived by 3 children and 12 grandchildren Ericka Gillespie (daughter and 2 grandchildren Dolphka Dolphka Lewis and Afton Lewis, Samantha Ware (daughter) and 6 grandchildren; Marc Anthony, D'Andre, Anthony Gillespie (son) 4 grandchildren; Ijani, Jalen, Jordan, Anthony. She is also survived by 24 great grandchildren. Nora loved life and lived it to the fullest. But most of all she loved her family. She loved to cook and could make anybody happy with her food . She had a loving heart and would do anything for anybody and expect nothing in return. At the end of her life her request was for her family to be happy, and healthy. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Hey family will never be the same as the matriarch is gone , but never forgotten Always in our hearts....A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. James Barleston officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery with Military honors conducted by the American Legion Post # 38.The family of Nora Johns will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Monday until time for services.Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
