Patricia Lynn Shope

Patricia Lynn Howard Shope, 83 of Somerset, Kentucky passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 while surrounded by her loving family.

Patricia was born in Dayhoit, Kentucky on November 20, 1941 to Willie Lee and Park Howard. She married Ralph D. Shope on September 3, 1960. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage. Pat was an active member of Mt. Victory Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death, brother Joel Howard, sister Wanda Sue Howard Spradlin, and grandmother Bert Tolliver.

Leaving to grieve her loss is her husband, Ralph Shope, her two sons, Ralph (Michele) Shope and Brandon (Cathy) Shope, her grandchildren, Madison (Fernando) Granados, Luke Shope, Hayley Shope, Caleb Grider, Katelyn Grider, and her sister, Helen Howard Ellison, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be on Monday (April 28) from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home 114 S. 3rd Street, Harlan, KY 40831

Funeral services will follow on Monday (April 28) at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Meece and Rev. Troy Mink officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral services on Monday (April 28) in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.
