Reed Hall, 83 of Ackworth Georgia, previously of Somerset, Ky passed away January 20, 2022.
Reed is survived by wife, Audrey Hall, Acworth GA, a daughter; Jennifer (Alan) Sutton of Harlan Ky, a son; Reed (Sandy) Hall of Caledonia MS. Four grandchildren; Courtney( Brad) Melson, Matthew (Brooklyn) Sutton, Samantha Hall, and Keegan (Alissa) Hays and two great grandchildren; Everly Grace Melson and Bohanan Brooks Sutton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive Hall, daughter; Nola Catherine Hall, brother; Don Hall, mother; Helen Helton, father; Floyd Hall and step father; Woodrow Helton.
Reed was a retired employee of Kentucky Utilities Company and served as District Manager for the Somerset District from 1975 until his retirement in 1998.
He was extremely involved in the Somerset, Pulaski County community and worked diligently to promote the area's growth and development. These efforts include serving as President of the South Central Kentucky United Way, Somerset Rotary International, Somerset- Pulaski county Chamber of Commerce and the Pulaski County Industrial Foundation.
His service to the community continued on the Board of Trustees with Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center, Pulaski County Labor Management Committee, Pulaski County Industrial Consortium, Somerset Industrial Development Authority and Southern Kentucky Economic Development Corporation.
Prior to retirement he was commissioned to serve on the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation (BSSC) which is attached to the Economic Development Cabinet in Frankfort. Upon a re-commissioning by the Governor he continued to serve on the BSSC beyond his retirement from Kentucky Utilities in 1998 and completed his re-commission in 2002. His efforts and work were instrumental in helping Somerset and Pulaski County be recognized as an excellent place to start or grow your business.
In retirement Reed started the LLC Bluegrass Utility Service Strategies( B.U.S.S) and performed specialized consultant services to the electric utility industry.
Services for Mr. Reed Hall will be Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home. Visitation Will be held from 10:30 to 12:00 PM with a funeral service conducted by Bro. Larry Butte beginning at 12:00 PM.
Burial will follow in the West Somerset Cemetery.
