Robert Gene "Bobby" Slagle, age 59, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Bobby was born January 27, 1967 to the late David Gene & Bonnie (Dobbs) Slagle in Alexandria, Louisiana. He spent much of his life working as a truck driver. He was a walking atlas who knew every town, back road, and hidden place, where the good food is, and how the people are. Though life brought its share of challenges, Robert was a truly resilient and thoughtful man. He treasured time spent together, whether sharing stories or sharing a loving home-cooked meal. Robert enjoyed trout fishing with his son. He also loved laugh-filled conversations and had a gift for connecting with people from all walks of life. His warmth and unique humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A man who fashioned his mind from walking life's many intricate paths in a way that showed his love for Christ, his love for family, and dedication to helping others, many would call selfless. Robert was known by few, but so are the best treasures in life.
He is survived by his son, Jason Tyler & (Sherilyn) Slagle; his grandson, Clay Gilbert Gene Slagle; his sister, Jody & (Darrell) Blevins; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Robbie Gene Slagle.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 15, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Bronston Cemetery.
