E. Roger Pennington

August 5, 1946 — October 30, 2020

E. Roger Pennington, 74; of Somerset, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Smilex, Kentucky on August 5, 1946; son of Ona Bailey Pennington Howard, and the late Ernest Arthur Pennington. He was a retired Construction Superintendent for South Kentucky RECC. Roger enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching all University of Kentucky sports; but especially basketball. Above all, enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, and a member of the DQ morning club.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Snell Bishop Pennington, whom he married on June 5, 1996; his children, Paula & (Mike) Utt, Pamela & (Dale) Beaver, Lucas Roger Pennington, Joshua & (Crystal) Pennington, and Michael & (Shawna) Bishop; a brother, Larry & (Pam) Pennington; grandchildren, Michael & (Katie) Utt, Megan & (John) Gibson, Amanda & (Joe) Venetis, Hannah & (Justin) Brown, Ashley & (Tanner) North, Jared Beaver, Zachary Pennington, Rowan Pennnigton, Lucas Valor Pennington, Ashlynn Pennington, Joshua Logan Pennington, Lainey Pennington, Leandra & (Nathan) Epperson, Jadon Michael Bishop, Austin Barron, and Jacob Shepherd; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Arthur Pennington; and a brother, Jerry Pennington.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Perry Dobbs officiating.

Burial will be in Clay Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday, November 2, 2020 at Pulaski Funeral Home and after 10 AM Tuesday until time for services.

Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
