Shirley Wesley

Shirley Ann Wesley, 79, passed away from this life and entered her Heavenly home on July 9, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

Shirley was born on July 17, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Charles Victor and Mary Mageline Hall.

She was a seamstress at The Palm Beach Company for many years as well as a long time employee of Paul's Discount. She was also a caretaker, a job which she did for many years. It was a job that she enjoyed very much, and she gave avid and loving care to those she cared for. Mrs. Wesley was well known at the Science Hill Ballpark  and will be remembered as a supporter of The Pulaski Little League for over 35 years where her dedication and hard work will always be remembered as will the homemade chili sauce she was famous for. Shirley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Science Hill for over 60 years. She loved her community and her family very much. 

She is survived by the love of her life, Gary Wesley, who she married on January 20, 1962. They had three sons , Mark (Kim) Wesley, Michael (Barb) Wesley, and Marty (Kara) Wesley all of Science Hill. Shirley had ten grandchildren, Matthew (Mindy) Hargis, Josh (Laura) Wesley, Callie (Zach) Rogers, Hunter (Ella Smith) Wesley, Shelby (Kegan) Skidmore, as well as Lucas (Kristen) Wesley, Aiden, Addie, Sophie and Scarlett Wesley. She was great grand mother to Aleah, Byron, and Bryceson Wesley, Josiah Hargis, Hattie Jo and Hudson Rogers, Anna and Beau Wesley, and Avery Skidmore. sisters; Kathy (Kay) Stringer, Judy Hammond  brothers: Roger (Mary Lou) Hall, Kevin (Patty) Hall, Ronnie (Linda) Hall, Sisters in law, Vickie Hall, Morrene Wesley, and Brenda Eubank. She was also blessed with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, who will miss her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Her brother Danny Hall and Brother in Law Jim Wesley.

Pall bearers will be Matthew Hargis, Josh, Hunter, Lucas and Aiden Wesley Zach Rogers. Honorary pall bearers will be Josiah Hargis, Byron and Bryceson Wesley, Hudson Rogers and Kagen Skidmore.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Hospice of Lake Cumberland and The Jean Waddle Care Center for their care and support. 

Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Bro. T.J. Godby officiating.

Burial will follow in the Science Hill Cemetery.
