Sophia Elaine Burdine Schwartz, 20, of Princeton, died suddenly at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Princeton, Sophie was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 2025. She was currently attending Mercer High School, where she freely made friends and worked with loving teachers and aides. Sophie had a wonderful sense of humor and held everyone around her to her highest standards. Sophie enjoyed many activities at school, including roaming the halls on a walker, bike, or in her wheelchair, hanging out with her friends, playing in gym, shredding paper, and being a cheerleader on the cheerleading team.
Always happy and smiling, Sophie was known for her warm spirit and outgoing nature. She was always ready with a hug and a smile for everyone she met. She loved water, making noise, and being in motion - splashing in a tub, pool, or shower, driving with mom or dad or on her bus, horseback riding, tooling around the neighborhood on her bike, and laughing her way through rides on roller coasters. She loved sitting on the beach watching the ocean come in to splash on her legs. She also loved quiet moments, sitting on the couch and cuddling up next to mom or dad and hanging out with her brother, to watch a movie or Taylor Swift videos.
Granddaughter of the late Charles O. Burdine, she is survived by her loving parents, Marc F. Schwartz and Rebecca D. Burdine; her brother, Donovan J. B. Schwartz; her maternal grandmother, Judith E. Burdine; and her paternal grandparents, Dr. Donald F. and Lois B. Schwartz. She is also survived by two aunts and two uncles, Charles O. Burdine II, Karin and Jonathan Bowie, and Daria Astara, as well as several cousins whom she adored.
