Sue Ann Mayfield

Sue Ann Allen Mayfield was born on June 15, 1935 in Connersville, IN. to the late John Allen and Catheran Robinson Allen Jones. She was united in marriage to Willard Lee Mayfield on July, 15, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN. It was a bond that would last forty - one years. To this union were born five children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother; Joe Allen, her sister in law; Jerry Allen, a son, Allen W. Mayfield, and a son in law, Donnie Burdine.

She is survived by four children; Deborah Mayfield Burdine, David (Tammy) Mayfield, Teresa Mayfield York, Karen (David) Eldridge, three brothers; Larry (Rema) Allen, Donnie (Janet) Allen, Jim (Susan) Jones as well as fifteen grandchildren and one foster grandchild; Misty Barnes, Dusty Mayfield, Cody Mayfield, Donnie Burdine, Stephen Burdine, Shaen Burdine, Ashley Burdine, foster grandchild; Tammy Sims, Danny Mayfield, Jason Mayfield, David S. Mayfield, Sheena York, Devin York, Tiffany Gastineau, Toby Eldridge, Aaron Eldridge, as well as a host of great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
 
She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of MT. Union Baptist Church. She passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2023 at Saint Joseph Hospital, London, KY, having obtained the age of 88. She loved reading and studying her Bible, She enjoyed spending time with her family, whether going out to eat or just sitting and visiting. She was a big Gunsmoke fan and she knew almost everything there is to know about James Arness. She made the most mouthwatering fried chicken and butterscotch pies ever! She had a very good sense of humor, although you would have to spend time with her to see that quality of her personality as she was reserved around people she did not know. 

A visitation will be held Monday, August 7, 2023 at Bethany Baptist Church from 11:00 am to 1: 00 pm. A funeral service will follow, at 1:00 PM. with Bro. Perry Dobbs and Bro. David Mayfield officiating. 

Burial will be in the Chaney Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Donnie Burdine, Stephen Burdine, Shaen Burdine, Dusty Mayfield, Cody Mayfield, Jason Mayfield, David S. Mayfield, Devin York, and Toby Eldridge.
