Susan Turman

Susan Corinne Turman, 64, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, December 12, 2025, in Science Hill, Kentucky.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.

Susan was born on May 14, 1961, in Blair, Nebraska, to Denton Jerome Dykes and Nancy (Van Cleve) Dykes. She was raised in Fort Lupton, Colorado, where she attended Fort Lupton schools for her primary education. Susan pursued higher education at Colorado State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 1983. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Colorado Denver in 1994.

Susan dedicated her professional life to serving others as a pharmacist, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings throughout Greeley, Colorado, and surrounding communities. She was known for her knowledge, compassion, and commitment to patient care.

On June 1, 1982, Susan married the love of her life, Louis Wayne Turman, of Westminster, Colorado. They shared 43 years of marriage and built a life together, raising their two children in Kersey and Galeton, Colorado, before relocating to Science Hill, Kentucky, approximately ten years ago.

Susan found joy in many simple and meaningful pursuits. She loved antique collecting, gardening, raising small farm animals, and rescuing Boston Terriers. She was deeply interested in natural living and off-grid lifestyles, enjoyed travel, and treasured time spent with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, William and Viola Van Cleve; her paternal great-grandparents, Fount Columbus Dykes and his first wife, the late Evalene Dykes, and his second wife, Juanita Dykes; her parents, Denton and Nancy Dykes; her mother-in-law, Jannalee Kraft; her maternal aunts, Susan Kretzer and Judy Dodd; paternal aunt Trudy Ragle; paternal aunt-in-law, Maxine Dykes; cousins Karl Kretzer, and Kelly Kretzer.

Susan is survived by her husband, Louis Wayne Turman; her daughter, Heather Corinne Snow; her son, Shawn Louis Turman, and wife Ashley; her sister, Rebecca Larsh; her brother, Denton Jerome Dykes II; and her cherished grandchildren, Haden Louis Snow, Lucy Rae Turman, and Ryan Louis Turman; her paternal uncle F.C. Dykes; cousins Ron Dykes, Keith Dykes, Robin Ragle Carrasco, Lisa Ragle, Stacey Ragle Bettelon, and Curtis Kretzer.
